Previously collects as little data as it can run on. This page says what that is, in plain language.

What we collect

• Reading the site. You don't need an account to read Previously. Our servers log standard technical information — pages visited, browser type, and rough location from your IP address — to keep the site running and understand traffic.
• Accounts. If you create an account, we store your email address and sign-in credentials so you can log back in, plus the library you build with it: favorites, watched and want-to-watch marks, follows, and alert settings. How the library works describes those features.
• Preferences on your device. Settings such as display preferences are stored in your own browser (local storage and cookies). They stay on your device unless a feature needs them to work alongside your account.
• Messages you send us. If you email the desk, we keep the message so we can answer it and act on it.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and local-storage entries for sign-in, preferences, and site function. The cookie policy lists them in detail. No advertising cookies are set by us directly; where ads run on the site, ad partners may set their own, under their own policies.

What we don't do

We don't sell your personal data. We don't buy data about you. We don't build advertising profiles of our readers.

Third parties

Some pages embed players and content from other services — video from YouTube, for example. Those services can see that your browser loaded their player and may set their own cookies; their privacy policies govern what they collect.

Your choices

You can read nearly all of Previously signed out. To see, correct, or delete the data tied to your account, email contact@watchpreviously.com and we'll handle it. Deleting your account removes your library and alert settings with it.

Children

Previously is written for a general audience and isn't directed at children under 13.
