Castlevania: Belmont's Curse

Castlevania turns 40, and Konami is marking it with a brand-new hunt. Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is a 2D action-exploration game — the style the series helped invent — developed by Evil Empire with Motion Twin in an advisory role, the studios behind Dead Cells, and published by Konami. It launches October 15, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.

You play Rose Belmont, daughter of Trevor Belmont and Sypha Belnades, picking up the Vampire Killer 23 years after Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. The year is 1499, and Dracula’s castle has manifested in the heart of Paris — a burning city and a non-linear castle to explore, in the series’ classic Metroidvania form.

There is already a way to start the hunt: a free demo of the opening chapter launched October 1 on all four platforms, and your save carries straight into the full game on October 15 — provided you stay on the same platform and account and keep the demo save. The demo runs at 60 fps on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, 30 fps on Switch, and is served in eleven languages. It is the same build Konami showed at Gamescom, where it drew strong early reactions for its fluid combat and whip-based traversal.
