Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve

The king of arcade dogfighting is back — and this time it is out now. Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, from the newly formed Bandai Namco Aces (Project Aces joined with ILCA), launched October 2, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam: the first new mainline Ace Combat in seven years, and the biggest the series has ever attempted.

You fly as REX, callsign of the “Wings of Theve” — named for the capital of the Federation of Central Usea, now under occupation by the invading Republic of Sotoa. With wingmen Baxter, Tasha, and Coster as Joker Flight, the campaign mixes classic high-speed arcade combat with first-person story sequences that put you inside the war, not just above it.
