The Man In the Glass Lyrics

When you get what you want in your struggle for self
And the world makes you king for a day
Just go to the mirror and take a look at yourself
And see what that man has to say

Whatever your father, or your mother, or your, or your wife
Judgment you must pass
Just go to the mirror and take a look at yourself
And tell that man staring back from the glass

He's the fellow to please, never mind the rest
For he's with you clear up to the end
You pass the most difficult test
If the man in the glass is your friend

Get along like Jack Horner, jiggle the plum
And think that you're such a wonderful guy
But the man in the glass says you're only a bum
If you can't look him straight in the eye

Hey, he's the fellow to please, never mind the rest
For he's with you clear up to the end
But you pass the most difficult test
If the man in the glass is your friend

Sit along like Jack Horner, and jiggle the plum
And think that you're such a wonderful guy
But the man in the glass, buddy, says you're only a bum
If you can't look him straight in the eye

Yeah, never give up, don't give up
The man, the man in the glass

The man, the man, look him straight in the eye, yeah

Oh, be a man, take your stand

Hey, yeah, yeah, tell the truth, tell the truth
Never give up, huh, never give up
Never give up, never, never, never
I got to, I got to, yeah, never give up

Never give up, yeah, hey, never give up

World, world, he's your friend to the end

To the end, to the end, yeah, to the end, to the end
The man in the glass, face yourself, face yourself
Never give up, the man in the glass
He's with you clear up to the end, yeah
Never give up, don't give up
Don't, don't, don't give up

Yeah, yeah, the man, be a man, face the world
Your mother, your father, and your girl
Never give up, do your thing, do your thing
Never tell a lie, look him straight in the eye
Stand up, huh, stand up, hey hey hey, stand up
I got to, I got to stand up, yeah, hey
Stand up, stand, stand up
I got tears, tears in my eye, eye-eye-eye-eye-eye

I won't lie, yeah, never give up
