About CashNasty
CashNasty is a Louisiana original — a former Walmart assistant manager who turned NBA 2K rage and real-life basketball runs into one of YouTube’s most beloved sports-comedy channels. Cassius Jeremy Clay launched the channel in June 2013 under the name WhatChaMaCalling; more than a decade later it is past 4.4 million subscribers, his second channel CashNastyReacts has another 2.2 million-plus, and the combined empire clears 6.7 million subscribers and 1.4 billion views. All of it built by a guy from Vidalia, Louisiana, who never let the audience forget where he came from.
The resume is blue-collar. Cash was raised in Vidalia by his parents, Cynthia Ann Clay and Cassius Lavern Clay, alongside two younger siblings, Jamarcus and Desteni. He played sports at Vidalia High School — baseball, basketball, football, wrestling — and once won a State Art Competition back in primary school. After high school he skipped college and went to work as an assistant manager at Walmart, where the stand-up-comedy streak he’d always carried started to feel like something more. A friend suggested he put the humor on YouTube. The first video, uploaded in July 2013, was “Nba 2k13 | Lakers V Knicks | Subscriber 1600 Microsoft Point Challenge Game | Commentary.” The channel was renamed CashNasty in 2015, and the rocket took off.
The foundation is 2K. His most-watched video — “MOST OVERPOWERED SHOOTING CARD! DIAMOND STEPHEN CURRY! NBA 2k16 MyTeam Gameplay,” posted December 2015 — has been viewed more than 6 million times, and it is pure Cash: screaming at pack odds, losing his mind over a 98-rated three-pointer, turning a card pull into theater. The channel hit a million subscribers in November 2016, and to celebrate, Cash submerged himself in a kiddie pool full of cheese — the kind of gag that tells you everything about why people watch. The second channel, CashNastyReacts (opened November 2013), added another 2.2 million subscribers and 529 million views of pure reaction content, plus the gaming channels CashNastyGaming and CashNastyPlays.
But the channel outgrew the game. Cash’s 1v1s against FlightReacts became appointment viewing — “I BROKE FLIGHTREACTS ANKLES!” crossed 4.7 million views, and a 2023 “FLIGHT VS CASH 1v1 FOR $10,000” pulled another 538,000 — and his real-life basketball content, from 2v2 runs to the “I FINALLY MET LEBRON JAMES” saga, made him a genuine hoops personality. He is a member of 2HYPE, the creator basketball collective he joined in May 2019 alongside five other creators, and his on-court trash talk is as sharp as his commentary. He played creator basketball in New York against Joancarlo Bonilla, teamed with CrsWht, and took on D’Vontay Friga in a 2021 upset special.
The LeBron saga deserves its own chapter. Cash was at Crypto.com Arena in February 2023 when LeBron broke the NBA all-time scoring record — his “I Witnessed Lebron Break All Time Scoring Record! *Emotional*” video did 352,000 views — and spent years chasing an on-camera moment with the King: “I FINALLY MET LEBRON JAMES” (April 2023, over a million views) was followed by “Lebron Snubbed Me Again At The Lakers Game” and, in June 2025, “I MET LEBRON JAMES AFTER 15 YEARS” (427,000 views). It’s a running gag with real heart: the kid from Vidalia who treats LeBron like mythology and keeps showing up.
The channel’s history has chapters. There was the CashNAshVlogs era — the shared channel with his longtime partner Ashley, pranks and couple content that added 80,000-plus subscribers; the relationship eventually ended, publicly, in 2022. There was the legendary beard saga: after eight years of facial hair, Cash lost a 1v1 and shaved it on camera in January 2023, a video that pulled 769,000 views because the audience understood the stakes. In December 2023 he introduced his daughter Ava to the channel — 477,000 views, 3,900 comments, a different kind of milestone. Through it all, the throughline is the Walmart-to-YouTube arc — the assistant manager from Vidalia who bet on himself and won.
What makes Cash different from every other 2K channel is the personality economy. He rages, he celebrates, he’s openly, loudly grateful — open about the grind, open about the family, open about the fact that none of this was supposed to happen. He’s posted more than 2,200 videos on the main channel, and the tone hasn’t changed since the WhatChaMaCalling days: every “Cash vs Flight” grudge match, every pack opening, every cooking video (“How To Cook The Best Bacon Cheeseburger!” did 264,000) is built on the same foundation. The people’s hooper, for real this time.

The video that built the legend: a Diamond Dynamic Stephen Curry so overpowered it broke NBA 2K16 — and 6 million people watched Cash lose his mind over it.
